Everyone has times in their life when it is hard to cope, or when you feel you are at a cross roads and it is difficult to make decisions. At such times therapy can be helpful. I find that most people can be helped with a limited number of sessions, and are then enabled to continue their life without needing a therapist. So I tend to offer short term therapy. This can be regular and frequent, intermittent, or longer term depending on what the client wants.
I am trained in a variety of approaches, including CBT, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness, Systemic Therapy, Personal Construct Psychology. I have practiced as a Clinical Psychologist and Health Psychologist for many years and my approach is integrative. In other words the approach I use integrates a variety of therapeutic models rather than adhering strictly to one approach. My approach is molded by the conversation and therapeutic relationship that I have with the client or clients. I have found that being adaptive and creative yields the most success and is the most fruitful.
